TAMING THE DOVES

Painted after a visit to Giffords Circus. The baskets were opened at the side of the ring and the doves sent whirling around the big top, then alighting on the shawl draped outstretched arms. I loved all of the wonderful costumes and theatricality.

My own doves are fickle, faithless, feathered friends and a five minute pose on the bird table is as near to taming as they’ll get.
