KEEPSAKES

I kept all my daughters’ shoes up to the age of five. The jelly shoes are identical to ones I wore myself, aged three on Polzeath beach. The single shoe was always just that; bought in a junk shop in Penzance, I loved the soft leather and the way the blue had faded away. These were painted just as they are, hanging in my studio against the wood panelled walls.

Oil on Linen. 55cm x 25cm in a simple wood frame
